The goods shipment is Deutsche Post's smart shipping solution for anyone who regularly sends small items - affordable, simple and reliable. Perfect for lightweight items such as jewellery, spare parts, accessories or promotional items.
Unlike small parcels or packages, there are fixed dimensions and weight limits, but you save money on every shipment. Important: Only goods are permitted, no letters or documents.
To ensure that your shipment can be transported without any problems, the following guidelines apply:
- Minimum dimensions: 10 cm (length) × 7 cm (width)
- Maximum dimensions: 35.3 cm (length) × 25 cm (width) × 5 cm (height)
- Weight: up to 1,000 g (standard) or up to 2,000 g with weight surcharge

There are clear rules for packaging: Deutsche Post only allows certain formats and types of packaging for goods shipments. The shipment must be easy to open and reseal.

- Mindestmaße: 10 cm (Länge) × 7 cm (Breite)
- Höchstmaße: 35,3 cm (Länge) × 25 cm (Breite) × 5 cm (Höhe)
- Gewicht: bis 1.000 g (Standard) oder bis 2.000 g mit Gewichtszuschlag
This means that goods shipments remain one of the most affordable shipping options for small and lightweight products - ideal for jewellery, accessories or spare parts.
A large letter and a maxi letter are types of mail offered by Deutsche Post which, unlike goods shipments, are not intended for goods but for documents, records or written correspondence.
- Large letter: up to 500 g, maximum 35.3 × 25 × 2 cm
- Maxi letter: up to 1,000 g, maximum 35.3 × 25 × 5 cm
Both options are suitable for sending paper documents or brochures. However, if you want to send products or items, goods shipment is the right choice.
