SOAP PACKAGING, DIRECT FROM THE MANUFACTURER

LESER manufactures your soap packaging in cardboard, made to your size and, on request, printed with your logo. Choose from 5 packaging types: cardboard slip lid boxesmagnetic boxescardboard drawer boxesbook cover cardboard boxes and collar cardboard boxesCustom packaging made to measure, such as our hand-made boxes, starts at 10 to 20 units. We manufacture to your format, not to a standard size that roughly fits.

At LESER you get packaging solutions from a single source. That means short paths for format, cardboard and finishing, and one contact who tells you what is actually feasible in production.

Personalised soap boxes from LESER are a good fit for soap makers, brands and resellers looking for a high-quality sales box or gift box.

Who does LESER make soap packaging for?

Who does LESER make soap packaging for?

Soap makers: Handmade soap takes time. After cold process it cures for at least 4 weeks, it often only becomes really hard and mild after 3 to 4 months, and it has to sit in the open while it does. Our box is the sales and gift packaging that comes afterwards, not the packaging for the curing time. If you also wrap each bar individually, our box goes over it.

Savon de Marseille and hard soap: The classic cube is a format of its own, compact and heavy. For presents and sets we lay out the box on the cube.

Hotels and spas: Small formats in a consistent presentation, on request with the logo of the house.

Gift set and gift box: Several soaps, often combined with a dish or accessories. Here the insert decides whether the set looks tidy when it is opened.

These 4 areas are examples, not a closed list. If your soap fits into none of them, we will make the packaging anyway.

We look forward to your project

WHICH PACKAGING IS RIGHT FOR SOAP? 5 PACKAGING TYPES MADE TO MEASURE

You specify the size, the colour and the finishing, we build a sample and produce the series. We adapt each of our 5 packaging types to your soap format. That gives you the right packaging for a single bar just as much as for a filled gift box.

Slip lid box

A lid slips over the base. The double layer of material in lid and base makes it particularly sturdy. The all-rounder among the packaging types.

Collar box

A sturdy base, a close-fitting lid and a visible collar in between. The collar gives the box a clean line and guides the lid precisely.

Drawer box

A sturdy outer sleeve and a drawer that pulls out. Pulling it out turns the unboxing into an experience.

Book cover box

The construction comes from bookbinding: the base is wrapped in a rigid cover that runs all the way round. The result is smooth edges and a glued, very sturdy structure.

Magnetic box

A high-quality folding carton with a magnetic closure. The kraft paper gives it a refined feel and a premium look.

Which packaging suits which soap format?

Soap has no standardised dimensions. The table below shows the sizes common on the market for bar soap, round soap and the savon de Marseille cube, and names for each format the packaging type that suits it. That gives you a starting point for your soap packaging boxes. We take the exact measurement from your piece.

Soap format Size of the piece Recommended packaging type
Bar 100 g, flat 80 x 55 x 20 mm Slip lid box
Bar 100 g, thick 80 x 55 x 30 mm Slip lid box
Narrow bar 75 x 50 x 30 mm Slip lid box
Flat and narrow bar 80 x 45 x 25 mm Slip lid box
Round soap Ø 63 to 75 mm Slip lid box
Savon de Marseille cube, 300 g 68 x 68 x 68 mm Slip lid box or drawer box
Set of 2 2 bars, side by side or stacked Book cover box or magnetic box, with insert
Set of 3 3 bars Book cover box or magnetic box, with insert
Set with soap dish Soap plus dish Book cover box or magnetic box, with insert

HOW CAN THE PACKAGING BE FINISHED?

Each of the 5 packaging types can be finished, whether you order a format common on the market or a size of your own. 4 routes are available for your custom soap packaging: print with your logo, hot foil stamping, colour and the insert. Which of them suits your soap is something we work out together.

Print with your logo

All packaging types are available with and without print. We agree the motif, the typeface and the placement with you.

Hot foil stamping

On the lid or, depending on the packaging type, on the insert as well. Classically in gold or silver, plus matt and metallic tones as well as transparent foils. Without foil it works as a colourless blind embossing. Up to 4 colours per motif are possible, in special production too.

Colours

There are almost no limits to the choice of colour. Tell us the colour you want and we will find the right solution together.

Packaging inserts

An insert holds the soap in place instead of letting it slide around in the box. For sets and for a combination of soap and soap dish it is almost always worthwhile. We make inserts to size, talk to us for an individual quotation.

How much space does the labelling of your soap need?

How much space does the labelling of your soap need?

Soap that is sold as a cosmetic product carries mandatory information under Article 19 of the EU Cosmetics Regulation, for example the list of ingredients, the nominal content, the batch number and the details of the responsible person. Making sure your product is labelled correctly is the duty of the responsible person under Article 4 of the Regulation, not of LESER.

What that means for the packaging: this area has to be settled before we build the sample. In practice it is often on the base of a slip lid box, and on the back of the slipcase of a drawer box. Tell us which details you need and in what size, then we keep that area clear in the layout and implement the approved details. That does not replace a legal review.

How does a personalisedsoap packaging project at LESER work?

How does a personalised
soap packaging project at LESER work?

A project at LESER runs in 3 steps: take the measurement, build a sample, produce the series. We start with the measurement. Send us a sample of your soap or its dimensions, then we work out the internal size and suggest the right dimensions if you would like advice.

We then build a sample. That usually takes 3 to 5 working days from the day your dimensions reach us. On request we send it to you, and from larger order quantities it is free of charge. With the sample in your hand you get a feel for the fit, the cardboard and the finishing before the series runs.

We then produce. Custom packaging made to measure is possible from as few as 10 to 20 pieces. The larger the series, the more economical the packaging becomes. The delivery time depends on the size of the order and on the type of finishing. We give you exact figures as soon as we know more about your project. The binding delivery time is then stated in your quotation.

Frequently asked questions

For a single piece the slip lid box is the obvious choice, because the double layer of material makes it sturdy and the all-rounder in use. If the packaging is to present the product itself, take the collar box instead, and that applies to every one of the single formats. For the cube the drawer box comes in as well, when pulling the soap out should be part of the unboxing. For sets the book cover box and the magnetic box are intended, and there you almost always need an insert so that nothing shifts.
We work it out from your piece. The internal size depends on the cardboard thickness, on the packaging type and on whether an insert is planned. There is therefore no general figure. Send us a sample of your soap or its dimensions, we take care of the rest.
Custom packaging is possible from smaller quantities too. We produce large series just as well. Tell us what quantity you have in mind and we will tell you what makes sense.
Yes. All 5 packaging types are available with and without print. We agree the motif, the typeface and the placement with you. In addition to the print, or instead of it, hot foil stamping is possible, with up to 4 colours per motif.
Yes. LESER builds a sample on request, usually within 3 to 5 working days from the day your dimensions reach us. That way you hold the fit, the cardboard and the finishing in your hand before production. From larger order quantities the sample is free of charge.
After the curing time. Cold process soap cures for at least 4 weeks, often 3 to 4 months, and it has to sit in the open while it does. Our box is the sales and gift packaging that comes afterwards, not the packaging for the curing time.
Whenever the soap would otherwise slide around in the box, and for every set made up of several pieces. We make packaging inserts to size, for an individual quotation talk to us.
LESER manufactures from FSC® certified cardboard on request. The FSC® Mix label means that material from FSC® certified forests is mixed with FSC® Controlled Wood. Controlled Wood does not come from FSC® certified forests, but it reduces the risk of illegal logging, human rights violations, the destruction of high conservation value areas and the conversion of forest land. Our FSC® licence number is FSC® C144083, more information at www.fsc.org.
In 3 steps: we take the measurement from your soap or from the dimensions you send us, we build a sample and, once you have approved it, we produce the series. The binding delivery time is stated in the quotation.
We manufacture to your size, not according to the table. The table shows soap formats common on the market as a starting point, not the assortment available for delivery.
4 things: the fit, the packaging type, the insert and the space for the labelling. The internal size follows your bar, the board thickness and any insert. The packaging type follows the format, for a single bar the slip lid box, for sets the book cover box or the magnetic box. You need an insert as soon as the soap would slide around in the box. And the mandatory information needs space, which should be settled before the sample is built.
