FLAT SHIPPING CARTONS: THE STURDY ALTERNATIVE TO MAILING BAGS
Anyone wishing to post small items often reaches for a mailing bag first. It is flat and quick to fill, but not always sturdy enough.
Our flat shipping cartons are just 45 mm high, yet still protect your goods like a proper box. With Royal Mail, you send them as a Small Parcel, the smallest parcel size. A tear-off tab and a self-adhesive sealing strip are already built in, so you do not need any tape. Available in brown and white, from 50 units.
Large Letter or Small Parcel: which is right?
Many people search for Large Letter boxes. However, Royal Mail only accepts a Large Letter up to 25 mm thick. Our flat shipping cartons are 45 mm high and are therefore sent as a Small Parcel. The upside: they offer significantly more protection and space for your goods.
These limits apply to a Small Parcel:
• Maximum dimensions: 45 x 35 x 16 cm.
• Weight: up to 2 kg.
Mailing bag or shipping carton?
Both solutions have their merits. Which one suits you better depends mainly on what you are sending.
The mailing bag is ideal for textiles, brochures and anything that is not sensitive to pressure. It is lightweight and takes up hardly any space in the warehouse.
The flat shipping carton comes into its own as soon as your goods need protecting. It keeps its shape, withstands pressure from above and protects the edges and corners of your products. With jewellery boxes, cosmetics or small gifts in particular, your parcel arrives exactly as you packed it.
Our rule of thumb: anything that can bend, break or be crushed belongs in a box.
Our flat formats
These are our two standard sizes:
• DIN A5 flat, 240 x 180 x 45 mm: for small products such as jewellery boxes, accessories or cosmetic samples.
• DIN A4 flat, 315 x 230 x 45 mm: for larger, flat items or several boxes in one parcel.
Both sizes are available in brown and white. For larger consignments, we also offer tall shipping boxes and a universal size. Here you will find all our shipping cartons.
Sealing without tape
This saves you real time in your daily dispatch: every shipping carton has a self-adhesive sealing strip. Fold the carton, insert the goods, peel off the backing strip, close it, done. You do not need tape, staples or tools.
Your customer opens the carton cleanly and without scissors using the integrated tear-off tab. This makes for a neat unboxing experience.
Sending jewellery safely
Jewellery is small and light, which makes it ideal for the flat shipping carton. To make sure it arrives safely, it is worth using a second layer of packaging inside:
• Flat jewellery boxes: the 0210 FLAT BOX series is just 15 mm high and therefore fits easily into the flat shipping carton.
• Fix boxes: fix boxes hold the item firmly in place so that it does not slide around inside the carton.
• Secure the contents: fill any empty space in the carton so that the box does not move during transport.
